Overview of hydraulic climbing formwork project

Project Name: Weishanhu Section of JiZou Expressway Sota


Contractor: Shandong Public Works. The template adopts our designed hydraulic self climbing formwork.


The tower is 196 meters high and has an A-shaped structure. The cable tower adopts a thin-walled hollow structure with a wall thickness of 1 meter.


The external mold of the Sota Tower is an automatic climbing system, with 8 frames arranged on four sides, each weighing about 2 tons (6 platform structures: operation platform, template platform, main platform, hydraulic operation platform, connecting platform, and lifting platform). The internal mold is a regular wall mold system, and the working surface is a wellbore platform. The slant support and protection system are integrated outside the frame.


The template adopts the H20 template system, which includes 14 channel steel back ribs, I-beams, and 21mm laminated plywood. To ensure safe construction, the surface of the template is coated with a yellow fireproof coating.


The hydraulic power unit is composed of main components such as motors and hydraulic cylinders. It enters the lifting process and climbs up to a height of 4.5m each time, taking less than 1 hour. Cylinder stroke 15cm


The site of embedded units and huge slant support was very shocking.


On site, we saw a dense set of interlocking scaffolding used to support cantilever connecting beams.
